No LoLo, there isn't a Santa Claus

I can't believe it. My almost 7yr old doesn't believe in Santa. He'd been asking if Santa was real all week last week. We don't want to lie to him, so Xassar and I sat down and had a talk with him. We told him about Kris Kringle, and the idea of santa. But he knows that santa is pretend now. *sniff* We threatened him big time if he tells Lundie! This morning while eating cereal he said "who here believes that Rudolph is real?" Lundie rose her hand, and he did too (while giving me a look.) So far, so good. I'm sad that the magic is over so soon for him.

Augh! My heart goes out to you! I admire very much your decision to be up-front and honest with LoLo. As hard as it must have been, it'd obvious that you respect him and his feelings.

I was shocked to find out how relieved I was when Landon finally knew the truth, then later Maddy, however I hope Dylan believes forever. I can't stand the thought of no one believing in Santa at my house!

Sorry, I would have out right lied! My kids tested me quite a few times, I don't remember when it started. I don't think it was seven though! I still tell my kids Santa is real in your heart! I have never admitted anything! Maybe that makes me bad? But too bad! You have to believe in my house! :)

Please, don't let him tell all the other little children, siblings, friends, etc. That will ruin the fun for a lot of little ones who are having a great time being children with the joy of Santa.
The more you don't believe the less presents you get in our house.
I feel bad that he is so young and the fun is over with Santa.

hey michelle - i found your blog thru alisa's. yeah, another blogging buddy, hope you don't mind - otherwise i'll be a blogging stalker. :) i'm so sad for you that logan doesn't believe in santa anymore, but i guess it has to end sometime! what a grown up 7 year old figuring it out so soon. my brother (the youngest in our fam) believed until he was 12. pathetic, i know, but sooooo much fun! oh - and i don't think he'll spoil it for the other kids, my sis-in-law flat out told her kids there's no santa but when they ask me i never admit it! i always just tell them that at our house we believe and that's how we get way cool gifts! (they get socks and underwear - clearly santa does not visit their house!) hope you guys have a Merry Christmas!!! ps .. i'm sending you an invite to our blog...

I cry every time my kids grow into the next size of clothes! I'll die when Santa is no longer an accepted truth. Sounds like you handled it well. :-)

P.S. Tag...you're it.

Yeah, we've threatened him pretty well about ruining it for the other kids.
